More than 250 community members gathered at Village Green Park in Rancho Cordova on Sunday, June 21, to celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga. According to a press release, the event brought together individuals and families from diverse cultural and age groups for a morning dedicated to yoga, mindfulness, wellness, and community connection.
The free community event was hosted by the Art of Living Foundation in partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova and the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. The celebration was made free and accessible to families throughout the community through sponsorship from the City of Rancho Cordova’s Micro Grant Program.

Participants joined guided yoga sessions led by the Art of Living Foundation, alongside breathing exercises, meditation, Ayurveda presentations, and special wellness demonstrations. These activities highlighted how yoga, conscious breathing, meditation, and balanced daily routines can improve flexibility, reduce stress, and support emotional wellness.
To encourage continued practice at home, complimentary yoga mats were distributed to the first 100 families, and special event T-shirts were presented to attendees while supplies lasted.

Art of Living Foundation volunteers Luna and Syed operated a healthy juice stall featuring green beverages, serving several hundred drinks to attendees. Teen volunteers from the Foundation also organized stalls selling brownies, jewelry, and kindness coupons.
A complimentary lunch was provided to attendees, allowing families, volunteers, instructors, vendors, and community members to connect and learn more about local wellness organizations. Local news outlet ABC10 covered the event, showcasing its positive impact on the community.
