Actress Maria Sten has returned as the fan favorite character Frances Neagley in season 3 of Amazon Prime Video’s popular “Reacher” series. The season premiered Thursday, February 20.
Neagley, who worked with the titular Jack Reacher character, played by Alan Ritchson, to solve deadly mysteries in seasons one and two, is back to do the same in the new season. The show is based on a series of books about the character by author Lee Child.
“Reacher” season three is based on Child’s book “Persuader.”
Neagley is introduced in the Prime Video series as someone who worked with Reacher when both served in a military police unit. With their military years behind them, she and her former boss return in “Reacher” season 3 as taciturn loners who commit to fixing big problems. Jack Reacher counts on Neagley for research and sometimes in-person assistance as he travels the country solving mysteries.
Sten, who was born in Denmark, is of Congolese, Swedish and Danish heritage, according to IMDB. The former Miss Denmark 2008’s credits include acting in “Straight Outta Compton” and Syfy’s “Channel Zero” and writing for the ABC drama “Big Sky.”
Apart from “Reacher” season 3, Prime Video also is set to feature Sten in a spinoff series, tentatively named “Neagley.” In the series, she’ll solve her own investigations. Ritchson is expected to appear.
Sten described the world of the new show to Screen Rant:
“She’s living her own life. She has her own work that she’s doing when Reacher calls for the first time,” she explained. And so we established that there is a world for her outside of Reacher’s universe, which, I think, is a nice way to hand it off for our episodes,” she said.
