a lack of transparency and accountability, including by sitting city councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper. The master plan aims to revitalize nearly 60 acres of publicly-owned land in the Greenwood District.

“Give me the opportunity to walk hand in hand with you to be able to produce results,” Hall told The Oklahoma Eagle. “I’m not a rookie … I’ve done startups in communities like Lubbock, (Texas) where I knew no one at all. I have the ability to build coalitions, meet people, work with organizations, work with residents where they are.”
Before coming to Tulsa, Hall worked as the administrator for the U.S. Job Corps in Washington, D.C. His experience spans banking, multifamily development, master planning and federal leadership. He has also managed local budgets of $144 million and federal budgets of over $10 billion, Greenwood Legacy Corp. chairwoman Lana Turner-Addison said.
Former State Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre, D-Tulsa, attended the announcement Wednesday. She said Hall seemed authentic and knowledgeable.
“It left me with a lot of hope,” she said, adding the community must give him a chance.
Hall tried to temper expectations on progress, saying construction won’t be fast. But there will be “some projects breaking ground in due time,” he added.
“I will be interfacing with you, asking you to help, asking for your lens on things, so that we collectively can make Greenwood all that it is meant to be and make our ancestors proud,” Hall said.
