Going from strength to strength after a triumphant night at the Grammys that saw her notch a big win in the Best Country Album category — a first for a woman of color — and then her long-awaited, very first Album of the Year award, Beyoncé announced tour dates for her Cowboy Carter tour, Variety reports.
The tour announcement comes after Beyonce had promised to share something special with fans only to pull back because of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour will include stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, the New York metro area, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, London and Paris.
She’ll have four dates each in Los Angeles, New Jersey and London. There will be two each in Chicago, Houston, Washington, Atlanta and Paris.
Notably, one of her Washington concerts will be on July 4, U.S. Independence Day.
The album “Cowboy Carter,” released in March 2024, marked Beyoncé’s entree into the country and Americana genres. She reimagined the music for the album in the customary Beyoncé way her fans have come to expect, incorporating soul, funk and even opera, while including songs featuring iconic country artists Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson as well as up-and-coming Black country entertainers.
At Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, the album, nominated 11 times, took awards in the Best County Album, Country Group/Duo Performance (for the song “II Most Wanted,” featuring Miley Cyrus) and Album of the Year categories. During her acceptance speech for Album of the Year, Beyoncé acknowledged Linda Martell, a pioneering and often overlooked Black woman country singer who contributed spoken vocals to “Cowboy Carter.”
“I want to dedicate this to Ms. Martell, and I hope we just keep pushing forward,” she said.
The album famously received no nominations from the Country Music Awards in 2024.
More information about tour dates is available on Beyoncé’s website.
